Daikaiju, the Secret Show
Fatty’s Sandwich Shop in Panama City Beach used to be a staple venue of the local punk scene. After a years-long hiatus due to zoning regulations and government overlords, they came back strong in early 2025 with Daikaiju’s Secret Show— a surprise pop-up with the address only being revealed the morning of. (Daikaiju later went on to play another local venue the next night, though I’m told the atmosphere just wasn’t the same.)
With the opening sets taking place outside in nearly below-freezing weather, they took their high-energy surf-punk and DIY pyrotechnics inside, and never before have fire code violations felt so good.
